South Bend Update: April 2024

Great news! Our contract with South Bend has been renewed for 2024! This year will focus on in person meetings with small developers and business owners as well as some virtual one on one coaching / assisting as needed.

Charity talks about her teams restoration project of the Monarch Building … and the new floor that is going in!

A few weeks ago, Neighborhood Evolution LLC had the incredible opportunity to visit South Bend and assist small skilled developers with their small development projects. It was a valuable and exciting experience to work alongside these passionate individuals who are dedicated to revitalizing their community through incremental development. Big thanks to the City of South Bend for their TRUE dedication - coming through not only with our contract but loan funds for small development, the zoning code overhaul, pre approved plans and more. Even the Mayor of South Bend showed up to the Happy Hour event on Thursday!

When we are in town, Friday is for the small developers. We bring our team and walk through projects all day. This is intense but often helps augment their work - amplifying their progress quickly by talking through issues / concerns / next steps. During our time in South Bend, we were able to assist with over $10 million worth of small development projects in a relatively short window of time. There is infill going on, big adaptive reuse projects, single family house renovations and more. Small, medium and big - they all matter. The impact of these projects on the local community is significant and showcases the power of small-scale, community-driven initiatives in creating positive change.

Exciting things are on the horizon for South Bend and its residents as these small development projects continue to take shape. Through collaboration and dedication, we can work together to create vibrant and sustainable neighborhoods that benefit everyone.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this journey and look forward to seeing the positive impact of these small development projects on the South Bend community. Stay tuned for more updates on our work in South Bend and beyond. #smalldevelopment #communityrevitalization #SouthBend #NeighborhoodEvolutionLLC
